How to Price Ethernet, T1 Lines, VoIP and DS3 Bandwidth

The information age has brought about some pretty cool technology such as T1 Lines, DS3's, Metro Ethernet and GigE Connectivity for businesses as well as homes. With that being said, complexities are also prevalent with such technological leaps. If you have ever searched out telecommunications providers, you may have found that not only is the technology somewhat confusing, but choosing a carrier can be difficult as well. Not all carriers and technology are alike. Each have their strengths and weaknesses in many areas. Some technology costs very little and some cost enough to make multiple...

Rebtel's stable of mobile VoIP apps expanded by one this week as the Swedish service provider released a Windows Phone app. Available in the Windows Marketplace, the free app requires a Windows Phone 7.5 or later (Windows Phone 8 is the current model). The Windows Phone app follows closely on the heels of the iPad app for Rebtel launched at the end of May. 100 Million Users to Get Free VoIP Service: Tencent App Adds VoIP, Bluetooth

There's an app that's adding free VoIP phone service to its 1 million users. It sounds like an impossibly big user base — the kind most companies could only dream of — until you consider the source: Weixin is a popular multimedia and voice messaging app (like South Korea's KakaoTalk) in China, land of 1 billion people. Knowing that makes 1 million seem kind of paltry, now, doesn't it? Anyhow, Weixin 4.2 is adding VoIP services, and Bluetooth support. Although the release date hasn't been publicized, iOS and Android Weixin app users in China will be able to access free voice and chat in...

The London games start July 27th, and England has been prepping like mad. The BBC intends to broadcast 3,500 hours of event coverage, from sports competitions to medal ceremonies, and much of it will be broadcast online as well as over traditional free-to-air, cable, and satellite channels. The goal is for no one to miss anything over the 14-day sports extravaganza — and to that end, the IOC and British event organizers are working hard to ensure that Summer Games fans will have access to the Olympics coverage from any Internet-connected device, just in case they're not near a TV. The Tube,...
