Pingtel Making Big And Small Wins With Open Source VoIP

10 October 2006

Pingtel , an IP PBX software company, is far less well known in the market than some of its rivals, notably Digium and Fonality , both providing commercial solutions based around Asterisk. But Pingtel is having some very big successes with its SIPxchange family of products, all based on the alternative Open Source PBX, SIPfoundry.

In particular, Pingtel just announced that its enterprise grade product, SIPxchange ECS was selected by Amazon.com as its core VoIP and PBX solution globally across the organization. One of SIPxchange's great strengths is that it is scalable across standard Linux servers to serve thousands of users and this was one of the main reasons Amazon.com chose it as a solution.
