Level 3 Wins MySpace

VON Magazine, 22 August 2006

Level 3 (www.level3.com) has been selected by MySpace.com to support the company's social networking services, including video transmission.

Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Level 3 will provide high-speed IP service to support MySpace services in multiple markets. According to statistics published by comScore Media Metrix, over 54 million people visited the social networking site in July 2006. MySpace Videos had over 20 million visitors in July, second only to Yahoo! Video's 21.1 million visitors. For July, MySpace was the sixth most visited U.S. site on the Internet

Level 3 also provides major support to AOL, EarthLink, and United Online for their consumer VoIP offerings; EarthLink is being particular aggressive in establishing their VoIP service in "Big Box" shelves, having recently secured resale agreements with Best Buy, Circuit City and OfficeMax.
