Wal-Mart puts Vonage VoIP onto its shelves

Now, even Wal-Mart sells Web-based phones.

In a sign that Internet phone service has come of age, customers can now buy Vonage Canada equipment in the same place they buy their underwear and shampoo.

Wal-Mart says it expects to offer more telecommunications services in future.

"Technology is a growing category for us right now," said Wal-Mart Canada spokesperson Christi Gallagher. "Wal-Mart Canada will eventually be offering similar services from other major Canadian carriers."
