Skype users top 100 million

VoIP (voice over internet protocol) giant Skype today announced that the number of people who use its global internet telephony service has reached over 100 million.

When Skype was bought by the online auction company eBay last September for $2.6 billion about 54 million people were registered to use the service, which allows users to talk for free through their computers.
