KPN says gets up to 20,000 VoIP orders per week

AMSTERDAM, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Dutch telecoms group KPN is receiving up to 20,000 orders for its
Internet telephony (VoIP) product per week, it said on Thursday.

KPN said its combined broadband Internet and telephony offer
had become "immensely popular", adding the company doubled the
capacity of its call centres in recent months and boosted the
number of engineers to handle installations.

A KPN spokesman would not comment on what conclusions could
be drawn for the full fourth-quarter subscription figures.

KPN added about 114,000 customers for its Internet telephony
product in the third quarter, or about 8,800 a week.
