Slow and Steady Goes The Netherland VoIP Market
26 September 2007
TeleGeography is reporting that The Netherlands’ consumer fixed line
telephony market grew by 2,000 connections in the second quarter of
this year, bringing their total to 5.999 million. During the same time
period, the total number of Dutch consumer VoIP subscriptions rose
7.1% to 2.2 million.
Their recent research indicates that DSL-based VoIP subscriptions are growing at a slower pace than cable VoIP subscriptions: 5.7% versus 8.3%. Although their growth in the VoIP market seems to be a tad on the slow side, the Dutch are on track to have 2.8 million VoIP subscribers by year’s end.
