Stay away from Vonage
Reviewed by Kevin Jones, 2007-05-12 13:52:41 Had Vonage for 8 months, had to reeboot the Vonage router several times a month. Echo on the phone almost all the time that would drive me crazy. They are more expensive that other Voip providers and have less features compared to many other providers.
Not to mention the law suit on them using other carriers pattents. Very bad customer support, they put you on hold forever, specially when you are trying to cancell your account. Even during cancellation they tell you how great they are and keep putting you on hold. They make it very difficult to trust them and they keep telling you to not worry about the their lawsuit and they woul figure something out but they never tell you what that is. Also, during number transferr they hold on to your number for up to the 45 days maximum and try to charge you several months worth of service that you are not using even if you have already signed up with another carrier and waiting number transferr to complete. I can go on and on about my horrible experience with Vonage but I think you get the idea.
You have been warned to stay away from Vonage.

These guys suck.
Reviewed by bmcneely0, 2007-05-02 08:23:13 I really don't know what else to say. From day 1 there were problems. They sent me a Linksys SPA2102. The install instructions were for a Linksys VOIP router with 4 wired ethernet ports. The SPA2102 only has one so no instructions on whether it goes between the modem and your router or behind the router. Numerous calls to get that worked out. Then, again from day 1 and for two week (until I cancelled) the SPA 2102 would recycle itself automagically and when it did, the phone would ring. So, whenever the phone rang, I had to wait to see if it would ring again indicating a real call, or if it didn't indicating the SPA 2102 had just recycled itself again. It was so bad I had to unplug the phone at night so it wouldn't wake me up. I opened two support tickets and was just told to reboot everything. I canceled inside the money back guarantee time. I'm waiting to see if I have to open a case with the BBB to get my money back. I left Vonage for these guys and went running back to Vonage because compare to voip.com, Vonage was fantastic. I don't recommend these guys at all. Stay away from them.
