Decent voip service
Reviewed by kz, 2007-05-06 23:27:45 I've been using Axvoice for about 8 months now after switching from Broadvoice. I'll say upfront I thought Broadvoice was awful, both in their CS (they illegally won't let you port a number assigned by them to another provider), and call quality.
While Axvoice's setup support seemed pretty curt, the job did get done without issue.
I'm using the BYOD plan with a Netgear/Sipura-2002 (now deprecated). Since I'd got the service I'd on and off had weird echo with my calls, but I'd finally fixed them by upgrading to the newest firmware (3.1.18). This made a world of difference.
The voicemail e-mail they have is a nice feature. I've really had many more issues with my Comcast cable connection than I have with my Axvoice service. Their web interface isn't bad either. I can make no claims on how good or bad their voice/e-mail support is as I've had minimal contact with them.
Over all I'd recommend them if you feel you are technically inclined and feel you won't need much hand holding. Once it's set up properly it works great.

avoid this company
Reviewed by ehb, 2006-03-30 00:00:00 decided to give this company a try because of the 30 day money back guarentee and because they had good rate plans. when i got my equipment and plugged it in I could make calls, but could not recieve calls. Called and talked to Tech support 7 or 8 times. When this did not work I figured I would just get my money back and try a different company. I asked for my money back and they refused, stating I did not work with Tech support hard enough to resolve the problem. 5 calls to tech support and 20 emails to customer service later I finally recieved a refund. With Vonage now and have had no problems.
