Skype, the online phone company, was today working to fix an outage that left
its 220 million users unable to make cheap calls over the internet.
The company said this morning that it was still working to resolve the
problem, which was apparently caused by a fault in its software that means
users could not log on to the service.
"It is still too early to call out anything definite yet we are now seeing
signs of improvement, and we continue to monitor the situation through
Europe waking up this morning," a statement on Skype's blog said.

A software bug has affected Skype's network, preventing users in Europe from logging on to the VoIP service.
A software bug has affected Skype Ltd.'s
peer-to-peer network, preventing users in some parts of the world from
logging on to its widely used VOIP (voice over Internet Protocol)
service. The company, a division of eBay Inc.,
initially referred to the incident as a peer-to-peer network issue but
has since determined that it's a software issue, according to a company blog.
The
blog, updated at 14:02 GMT, said the company expects to have the
problems resolved within 12 to 24 hours. It advises users to leave
their Skype client running so they can be logged back in once the
issues are dealt with. The blog also said that downloads of Skype have
been temporarily disabled and that the company hopes to make them
available again as quickly as possible.

JAJAH, the world's most innovative
communication company, today announced its popular web-based calling
service has been upgraded for use in Canada.
In response to customer demand, JAJAH today announced that making free and
ultra-low cost JAJAH calls from Canada is even easier than before by adding
support for Canadian currency to its popular web-based calling solution. On
the JAJAH rates webpage (www.jajah.com/info/rates/), users select the

country you are calling from and the one you want to call to view
corresponding call rates, as low as 4 cents a minute.
"Canadians have been finding JAJAH on their own and have been asking us for
this upgrade. We hope this brings even more Canadian users to our system
and enjoy low cost calls," said Roman Scharf, JAJAH co-founder. "With the
JAJAH web-activated calling solution, there is no download, no installation
and no long-term contract required to make free and ultra-low cost
long-distance and international calls. JAJAH is the first service of its
kind designed for all phone users who appreciate saving money."
